Social Entrepreneur Employment Opportunities
Tewatohnhi’saktha is Kahnawà:ke’s Economic Development Commission, and we are implementing a new project to develop social enterprises and social entrepreneurs in Kahnawà:ke. We are now looking to hire a dynamic TEAM of Social Entrepreneurs. (10 to 14 positions)
JOB SUMMARY: The Achieving Concrete Essentials Project is seeking enthusiastic, creative, and motivated individuals to join the Achieving Concrete Essentials (ACE) team. This project will enable the youth of Kahnawà:ke to gain valuable lifelong work and other essential skills to research, plan, and implement Social Enterprises. The Social Entrepreneur will experience essential skill development via customized course modules, and professional support followed by micro business start-ups.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: (include but not limited to) the Social Entrepreneur must offer the willingness to be guided, advised, and directed in learning and planning social enterprises, and in implementing a social enterprise start-up. Must be willing to be a team player.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: (include but not limited to) Learning and practicing skills related to business planning and operations, Microsoft Office, personal and financial organization. Learning and practicing good teamwork, oral and written communication, and customer service. Conducting research and developing microbusinesses to support social enterprise in Kahnawà:ke. Working in a social enterprise (requirements will vary.)
Duration: July 2, 2019 – December 13, 2019 (24 weeks with a possibility of extension)
Salary: Entry level is $12.50 per hour ($468.75 per week)
Work schedule: A normal work week is 37.5 hours; possibility of work in evenings and on weekends
Deadline: 4:00 pm on Friday May 31, 2019
Education and High School and/or Post-Secondary Diploma
Experience Candidates may also be considered with one (1) to two (2) years work experience.
