Register NOW for Winter Vocational/Trade School Course funding! You can apply online at tewa.ca or in person at the Tewatohnhi’saktha reception.
Once registered you will be contacted to complete the Vocational Process; that includes online assessments, and writing a resume and cover letter.
Vocational Training is an education that prepares trainees for jobs at various levels from a craft or trade, such as carpentry or welding, to professional positions such as accounting and administrative support. Vocational Training is traditionally non-academic and related to a specific trade, occupation, or vocation.
How To Apply
A 60-day counseling process before approval to any vocational training program consists of up to 8 meetings with your employment counselor.
The counseling process is designed to ensure that you are sure of the field you would like to get into, BEFORE your tuition is paid and you begin collecting an allowance, and to be sure that you are aware of your future job prospects once you have completed your training.
Once you have completed the counseling process and your training has been approved, Workforce Development can provide funding for tuition, allowance, childcare, and some supplies and equipment.
*Note: participation in a career exploration program such as the Career Building Skills program MAY satisfy this requirement, and clients can go directly from this program to a training program approved for funding.
Register at Tewatohnhi’saktha at least 60 days before your training start date, and you will be contacted within 4 business days to schedule an appointment with a counselor. Click here to access Tewatohnhi’saktha’s client registration form.
