Tewatohnhi’saktha is launching a Labour Market Study to better understand Kahnawà:ke’s current workforce and future labour needs. The results will help guide community workforce planning, skills development, employment programs, succession planning, and future economic development opportunities.
The study will engage Kahnawà:ke organizations and businesses to provide basic workforce information related to their employees as well as gathering data from employees themselves. The findings will identify community-wide trends in education, employment, occupations, workforce demographics, skills gaps, and hiring needs.
Information being collected includes:
- Number of employees who are Kahnawà:ke community members
- Employment status, including full-time, part-time, temporary, and casual positions
- Occupational categories and departments
- Workforce demographics, where appropriate and in accordance with privacy requirements
- Anticipated hiring needs and workforce challenges
All information will be handled in strict confidence and reported only in aggregate form. No individual employee information will be disclosed, and organizational data will be presented in a way that protects privacy while still providing meaningful insights for community planning.
Participation from local organizations and businesses is essential to the study’s success. By contributing workforce information, it will help build a stronger evidence base for strategies that benefit the entire Kahnawà:ke community.
