JOIN US FOR THE 6TH ANNUAL OCTOBER HARVEST FALL FEST EVENT

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE- Kahnawà:ke (Seskehkó:wa/September 20th, 2024 – Let’s give thanks to all the plants and the crops we harvested! Kahnawà:ke Tourism is hosting the 6th Annual October Harvest Fall Fest Event at the Golden Age Club on Sunday, October 6, 2024 from 10AM-5PM, in conjunction with the finale of the Kanien’kehá:ka Onkwawén:na Raotitiohkwa Language and Cultural Center: IONTKAHTHÓHTHA Art Fair Show. The Harvest fall fest gives the opportunity for our community and businesses to gather, sharing their culinary creations and have some fun with festivities focusing on the annual harvest.

It began in 2016, when the Tourism team created the food festivals showcasing culture, nature, traditional foods, aligning with our cycle of ceremonies. The event is a beautiful way to introduce and educate about our cultural traditions, in a respectful and economically positive way to visitors, without disrupting our local environment. We are encouraging all local artisans and food vendors to get involved by having harvest themed items on available as we celebrate and give thanks to our harvests.

“As the new Events Coordinator for Kahnawà:ke Tourism, I take great pride in having been given this opportunity to celebrate the Kanienkehá:ka Culture by coordinating the upcoming event. As this will be my first event, I hope to achieve success in making the community proud by creating a fun, educational and tasteful harvest fest! I encourage all locals and visitors to come out for a day full of festivities” said Melina Singh, Events Coordinator.
