(Kahnawà:ke) Seskehkó:wa/ September 2, 2021 – The Kahnawà:ke Emergency Relief Measures
Board of representatives wishes to remind the community of the current KERM benefits.
Medical Isolation (Quarantine) Fund:
A parent who had previously accessed KERM Individual Benefits and is the primary caregiver
of a child or children identified as a contact of someone diganosed with COVID-19 may be
eligible for a medical isolation benefit.
Social Assistance Benefits:
Those who are not eligible for the KERM medical isolation benefit may be eligible for Social
Assistance. Eligibility for Social Assistance depends on the financial situation of the entire
household, including that of a cohabitating partner or spouse. Social Assistance is last resort
that ensures there is a basic income in the home.
Canada Recovery Sickness Benefit (CRSB):
Persons with over $5000 of income earned and reported on their tax return in 2019 or 2020,
or in the 12 months prior to their application, may be eligible for the Canada Recovery Sickness
Benefit (CRSB) offered through Canada.
