Tewatohnhi’saktha was established by legislation in 1999 and now operates as a band empowered entity pursuant to MCED #47/2019-2020 which was adopted by the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) on July 17/2019. Tewatohnhi’saktha has been granted the authority to operate as a separate but collaborative organization with the MCK.

Our mandate is to support business development and facilitate workforce development. Tewatohnhi’saktha is responsible and accountable for the delivery of the following services within the Kanien’kehaka Territory of Kahnawà:ke.

Our mission is to stimulate economic development of Kahnawà:ke by investing in the Community’s people and businesses.

Our vision is a self-sufficient community that fosters quality of life for Kanien’kehá:ka ne Kahnawa’kehró:non and creates collective prosperity for future generations consistent with our cultural values.
