Heads Up Program

Heads Up Summer Program targets youth ages 12-17. The primary objective of the program is to get youth to begin to think about career. It is offered beginning at the end of June and is divided into two 13 day sessions and provides youth with activities and training to stimulate their awareness of career and employment possibilities and entrepreneurship.

The program offers the youth the chance to learn many life-skills and business skills as well as career exploration including a 3 day employee for a day session. The final week these skills are put into action as a real life business will be operated. How well the students succeed at the business will depend on how well they apply the life-skills and business skills they learn during the first weeks of the program. Their reward is an equal share of the profits made from their business venture! The program provides many fun activities, including day trips that will allow the youth to have fun. There will be visits to local businesses and organizations to get an idea of the possible careers in and around the community.
