$80,000 RAISED FOR THE KAHNAWÀ:KE LIBRARY

Kahnawà:ke (Seskéha / August 23, 2023 )

The Tewatohnhi’saktha Business Golf Challenge raised $80,000 for the Skawenniio Tsi Iewennahnotahkhwa Kahnawà:ke Library during the August 18th event held at Lafleur’s Golf Club. The Tournament was originally to be held in 2020, but due to the pandemic and the economic fallout, it was cancelled for three years. The long-awaited event was a success with sold out tickets and eager sponsorships from both local and external businesses.

“The Kahnawà:ke Library provides more than just public library services to our community and it was a pleasure to see the support of all those in attendance who bid on auction prizes that were donated and to those who helped with sponsorships.” Said John Bud Morris, Chief Operations Officer for Tewatohnhi’saktha.

“On behalf of the patrons, staff, and circle, the Skawennio Tsi Iewennahnotahkhwa Kahnawà:ke Library would like to say Niawenhkó:wa for your fundraising efforts to help with the continuing development of our community library, as well as everyone who attended and/or supported the event. Their generous contributions will benefit the children, families, elders, and all who depend on public library services.” – Shyann White, Library Circle Member.
