Training Facility receives support – further consultation to be conducted

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Kahnawà:ke (Enniskó:wa/March 2, 2022)
Tewatohnhi’saktha is pleased to share the results of the consultation on the NACPT PHARMA COLLEGE (NACPT),  operating as North American College of Pharmaceutical Technology, training facility wishing to lease approximately 2000 square feet (3 classrooms) for 5 years in Kahnawà:ke; results are available on www.tewa.ca/nacpt_faq. The consultation took place between January 19th and February 2nd 2022 via online survey and in person kiosks at the post office.

The initial consultation showed very positive acceptability (close to 90%) towards allowing this non-local business to operate in Kahnawà:ke. However, being responsible for Business Attraction, Tewatohnhi’saktha is not satisfied with the amount of consultation that took place and are not able to advise the MCK on whether a decision can be made to accept the business to be located in Kahnawà:ke at this time. Tewatohnhi’saktha has asked PlanIT Consulting to do further consultation on this mattr in the new fiscal year when more opportunity for in-person consultation may be possible.

Direction was given through the first phase of consultation, which will result in Tewatohnhi’saktha searching locations with a preference for existing facilities on public lands. The second phase of consultation will identify exact locations and will ask the Community if the locations are acceptable for the NACPT to operate on a 5 year lease with 5 year lease renewal option.
