4th Annual October Harvest Food Fest is underway!
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Seskehkó:wa/September 26, 2022. Kahnawà:ke Tourism will host the 4th Annual Harvest Food Fest this October! The Harvest Food Fest is a collective event, where the theme of harvest and community culinary creations made harvest goods is promoted throughout the community for the whole month!
The food festivals initiative was created in 2016, as a means to showcase our traditional foods that coincide with our cycle of ceremonies to visitors and community members alike. The food fests are a fun, respectful and economically beneficial way in which to share our culture, without disrupting the local environment.
This year Kahnawà:ke Tourism has partnered with Kahnawà:ke Collective impact to offer the community and visitors the Fall Fest on Saturday October 15th, 2022, from 10h00 to 17h00 at the Kahnawà:ke Sports Complex. Visitors can expect to participate in various activities, interact with artisans and enjoy some local cuisine.
Multiple business have pre-confirmed their participation. Local businesses are encouraged to join in by calling 450-635-2929 or email info@kahnawaketourism.com.
The Food Fest is part of the overall tourism strategy, and a part of the Shop local, Shop Kahnawà:ke initiatives. This year, prizes will be rewarded for checking in online to participating businesses and using the #Harvestfoodfest2022 and #Kahnawaketourism hashtags.
