5th Annual October Harvest Food Fest is underway!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE- Kahnawà:ke(Kenténha/October 2nd, 2023)

Kahnawà:ke Tourism is hosting the 5th Harvest Food Fest throughout the month of October! The food fest is a collective event, when community members and business can share their culinary creations
made from the annual harvest. The food festivals initiative was created in 2016, to highlight our traditional foods that coincide with our cycle of ceremonies to community members and visitors alike.

The food fests are a fun, respectful and economically beneficial way in which to share our culture, without disrupting the local environment. The festival is a wonderful way to get everyone involved from the smallest
business to the biggest ones.

‘’We are also looking forward to this year’s in person public event the Harvest Fall Fair! The event will be held on October 22nd at Orville Standup Park. We have so many people interested in trying our traditional food that visit the community, so this is a perfect time to get those options in all the local businesses being promoted by tourism. It will be a fun filled day of activities for the whole community, so we hope to see you there!’’ said Bronwyn Kawenahawe Johns, Events Coordinator. The Harvest Fall Fair will be sponsored by Desjardins Kahnawake Caisse Populaire and The Rail.

Multiple businesses have confirmed their participation. We encourage other local businesses to join in by calling (450)635-2929 or email info@kahnawaketourism.com.

The Harvest Fall Food Fest is a part of the overall tourism strategy, and a part of the Shop local. Shop Kahnawà:ke at participating businesses and using the #Harvestfoodfest2023 and #kahnawaketourism hashtags. Be sure to follow our social media pages for more information.
