Kahnawa:ke Welcome Center to reopen Monday, July 12
(Ohiarihkó:wa / July 7, 2021) The Kahnawà:ke Tourism Welcome Center (KWC) will reopen its doors on Monday, July 12, 2021. After being closed since the initial lockdown in March 2020, The KWC is prepared to welcome visitors once again. The KWC will primarily be an information center for the time being, with the staff gradually returning to work in the office. Despite being closed to the public, we can be reached by telephone (450) 635-2929 or email info@kahnawaketourism.com
The best interests of the community are at the forefront of this reopening plan. Our team hopes to help mitigate traffic flow within the village area while increasing the promotion of shopping Kahnawà:ke. Though the tours and museums remain unavailable, the team is planning for their return. For now, the virtual tours series Kwakaratón:ni is available on the Kahnawake Tourism YouTube page, as well as on our kahnawaketourism.com website.
Community members, businesses and organizations are encouraged to direct visitors to the KWC during these business hours as of July 12:
Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 5 pm
Saturday and Sunday 10 am to 3 pm
“We are working slowly to get back to where we were, and better! We hope that the community supports our efforts to bring tourism back to Kahnawà:ke, working together on projects, initiatives and helping visitors find their way to their destinations,” said, Kimberly Kaniehténhawe Cross, Tourism Development Agent.
