- Public results show favorably for the project (89.6%)
- ‘Highways 30, 132, and 138’ were the top choice for physical locations of the community for NACPT to establish.
- Top 3 property types were Public Lands, Public training facilities located in proximity to residential areas, and Private/public partnership lands.

How can I take the survey?
a. You can find the link to the survey online at PlanIT Consulting & Communications | Facebook starting January 19th, 2022.
Where and when will the survey take place?
a. Due to Covid-19 public health and safety measures, the survey will only be available online
from January 19th – February 2nd
What is NACPT and who are the owners?
a. NACPT is a leading career college that provides in-depth skill training in pharmaceuticals,
cannabis, business, technology, tourism, and more. NACPT Pharma College was founded in
2009 by Rathi Paramasamy, a Validation Scientist. NACPT’s overall purpose was to enhance
students’ abilities to launch their post-degree professional careers.
What are their credentials/certifications that allow them to operate?
a. NACPT Pharma College registered and operates under the Private Career Act, of 2005. NACPT
Pharma College is also a Designated Learning Institution (DLI) by Citizenship of Immigrations
for international students. NACPT Pharma College is a member of Ontario Career Colleges
(OCC) and National Associations of Career College (NACC). NACPT is affiliated and partnered
with many leading pharmaceuticals, cannabis, technology, IT and related companies with the
intention of providing job placement within the industry-related sectors
Why did NACPT select Kahnawà:ke to establish a training centre?
a. NACPT wishes to bring their services to Kahnawà:ke to enable English programming in various
fields to continue in the province of Quebec, and to work with First Nations communities,
while remaining in the Greater Montreal area.
Exactly what trainings will take place at the facility?
a. NACPT offers technical training that does not exist in Kahnawà:ke. Pharmaceutical, Medical
Cannabis, Accounting and Payroll, Business Administrations and Personal Support Worker
training are just some of the suggested courses that can be offered by NACPT.
Can Kahnawà:ke residents participate in the training? If so, is there a cost to the individual?
a. Yes! Kahnawà:ke residents are encouraged to participate in NACPT training. Please refer to
program outline flyers section in this information booklet. Tewatohnhi’saktha may have
funding to cover costs if you’re eligible.
What are all the benefits to Kahnawà:ke?
a. Workforce Development will benefit from additional training that will be offered locally.
b. Community members will have access to training that does not currently exist elsewhere in
the community.
c. Technical training will assist with economic development recovery.
d. Creates employment opportunities in educational, administrative, and technical fields.
e. Mentoring and coaching for career developments and entrepreneurship.
f. Laboratory facilities for enrolled students.
g. Training for long-term care facilities with placement workers.
What is the relationship between NACPT and Tewatohnhi’saktha?
a. Tewatohnhi’saktha (The Kahnawà:ke Economic Development Commission) researched this as
a Business Attraction file, which is part of their mandate. Research and discussion have been
ongoing since December 2020. After consulting the local government (Mohawk Council of
Kahnawà:ke – MCK) it was determined that consultation with the Community would need to
take place to move forward
Where will NACPT be located?
a. A location for the NACPT training facilities has not been selected yet. Community members
will have the opportunity share preferred locations via the survey beginning on January 19th
How long will NACPT be operating in Kahnawà:ke?
a. A draft lease has not been developed but will be based on Community feedback and MCK
approval once a location has been identified.
Will non-residents be attending the facility daily? If so, how many?
a. Yes, non-residents who choose to enroll will be using the facility as needed for training.
Specific numbers cannot be determined until programming is approved to begin and an
enrolment process is taking place. Kahnawà:ke residents will be given priority in enrolment.
In order to access the NACPT training facilities, non-local students will have to drive into Kahnawà:ke.
What will be done to ensure peace of mind for residents?
a. First, it’s important to note that existing local educational facilities already have non-residents
attending classes, without issue.
b. During orientation, non-resident students will be provided with guidelines to observe while
visiting the community.
c. Proper signage will be created to direct traffic when the location has been determined.
MEDICAL CANNABIS EDUCATION IN KAHNAWÀ:KE
NACPT Pharma College in collaboration with Tewatohnhi’saktha, will provide career education in
medical cannabis to the residents of Kahnawà:ke and Greater Montreal.
Why do you offer training in medical cannabis?
a. All cannabis professionals are expected to be qualified individuals with in-depth knowledge
for handling cannabis during its different stages of manufacture as it reaches the public for
medical purposes. This includes Good Production Practices, Good Manufacturing Practices,
Health Canada’s Cannabis Act and Regulations, Technical and Sanitation Processes, Quality
Management, Hands-on Lab Training and study of Cannabis Plant Science. Through intense
career training we ensure that each graduate is thoroughly equipped as they enter their
career path.
Is the training for medicinal purposes only?
a. The training offered for medical cannabis can be also used for recreational purpose as per
Canadian Health Canada’s regulatory requirements as it is a regulated legalized industry at
this point.
Will plants be used in the training?
a. Cannabis training can take place with or without actual plants. NACPT is willing to partner
with local licensed facilities for on-site plant-based training, if needed based on community
preference and requirements.
Will plants and derivatives from the plants be kept at the facility? If so, how much?
a. Not at this point. We may ask the Community for permission to use up to 4 plants or cannabis
medicinal compounds for testing as needed in future. This will be up to the Community. We can
have courses with or without.
Will plants be grown at the facility? If so, how much?
a. If the Community agrees, in the future there is potential to have between 1 to 4 plants in
mutual agreement. This decision will be up to Kahnawà:ke and not NACPT. We will abide by
the rules of the Community.
How exactly is it used in the training? Please explain.
a. Medicinal products will be tested for training using computerized chromatographic systems.
Please check the HPLC lab training videos in the gallery section. This is only possible in the
future (over 1 year from our first day) if the Community agrees
Will students be ingesting it?
a. No, it will be strictly prohibited. NACPT does not allow cannabis consumption at either of our
Ontario campuses. Sales or consuming medical cannabis or related products onsite is
prohibited. It can be only used for educational purposes, if agreed on by the community
Is learning medical cannabis safe?
a. Yes. Cannabis programs are strictly regulated through Cannabis Act and Regulations by Health
Canada. The program prohibits all kinds of cannabis consumption (inhalation, ingestion or
topicals) for any purpose (medical or recreational) during your training period. Cannabis
plants used for hands-on learning must be maintained under the guidance of a Licensed
Producer and college authority and are restricted to no more than 4 plants at the campus
facility
What do students learn?
a. Students learn skills and knowledge to use in various vocations, as per Health Canada’s
regulatory requirements.
b. Cannabis industry has a vast spectrum of career opportunities including Responsible Person
(RP), Qualified Person in Charge (QPIC), Quality Assurance Person (QAP),
Consultants/Educators, Auditors, Inspectors, Technicians, Analysts, Technical Writers,
Extractors, Tissue Culture Technicians, Process Engineers/Scientists, Clinical Research
Associates. Technical Writers, Head of Security and so on.
What do students go on to use their cannabis skills for? (Do you have examples?)
a. Technical skills to produce and test cannabis as per Health Canada’s regulatory requirements.
What are the benefits of cannabis education?
a. Cannabis is a booming industry that offers a wide spectrum of career and business
opportunities in Canada. Without prior educational or industry background you cannot
explore this field to find a career that fits your interest or plan for a career change. The Postsecondary diplomas, fast-track certificate and cannabis certification programs will make you
career-ready and helps in business development in a short time span in accordance with
Health Canada’s regulatory standards.
