7th Annual Maple Food Fest is Underway

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Kahnawà:ke (Enniskó:wa/March 1, 2022) Kahnawà:ke Tourism will host the 7th annual Maple Food Fest beginning March 14 and continuing until April 22, 2022. The Maple Food Fest is a collective event, where the theme of maple and community culinary creations of maple goods are promoted.

Since 2016, Kahnawà:ke Tourism has highlighted our traditional foods, that coincide with our cycle of ceremonies to visitors and community members alike. The food fests are a fun, respectful and economically beneficial way in which to share our culture, without disrupting the local environment.

Tourism continues to engage our business community to participate in these festivals in order to share their culinary products with visitors and our community. Throughout this maple season, Kahnawà:ke Tourism will also be spreading knowledge about the process to create maple syrup and tapping trees, while encouraging more locals to try themselves.

Multiple businesses have pre-confirmed their participation. Local businesses are encouraged to join in by calling 450-635-2929 or emailing info@kahnawaketourism.com.

The food fest is part of the overall tourism strategy, and part of the shop local, shop Kahnawà:ke initiatives. This year prizes will be rewarded to those who ‘like’ and ‘follow’ our social media pages and use the #maplefoodfest2022 and #kahnawaketourism hashtags. All prizes will be locally sourced products. Be sure to visit our Facebook page for more information. “
