Places to Visit – The Cakery Bakery & Rowy’s

The Cakery Bakery, formerly known as the Butter End Cakery, is a newly opened Kahnawà:ke bakery owned and operated by self taught baker Kahente McGregor. Kahente bakes delicious custom cakes, treats, and all kinds of special dessert creations. Recently, The Cakery Bakery has gone through a couple of changes such as the business’ name change, to securing a storefront location and sharing the building with her partner Austin Lazare, owner of Rowy’s Preservation Nation.

Rowy’s Preservation Nation, established in 2018 by owner Austin Lazare, offers several delicious, pickled products ranging from pickled beans to pickled mixed veggies, they even make an incredible salsa, but what Rowy’s is most known for are their unbelievably delicious PICKLES! The pickles come in many different flavours like Classic Garlic Dills, Salty Sours, and Jalapeno Habanero Hotties, to name a few. All Rowy’s products are locally made here in Kahnawà:ke.

This new location merges the products of the bakery and preservation business. The Cakery Bakery is open from 9:00am to 5:00pm Tuesday to Friday and on Saturdays they are open from 9:00am to 12:00pm.  Rowy’s Preservation opens Monday to Friday from 10:00am to 5:00pm and on Saturdays from 12:00pm to 4:00pm.

Both The Cakery Bakery and Rowy’s are located on 9 & 3/4 15th Rd E in Kahnawà:ke.

The Cakery Bakery and Rowy’s Preservation are both participants in the Shop Kahnawa:ke program and accept Shop Kahnawa:ke certificates at their location
